About Me and
My Recipes for Success

Founder

Have you ever wonder who is the person behind the scenes of a website?

Hi! My Name is Wendy and I am the owner of My Mamas Best Recipes.com.

To tell you a little about who I am. I have been married to my husband Mark the love of my life for now almost 18 years. He works as a the VP of Operations in the communcation field.

We have four children ages 16, 8, 7 and yes we held out till we finally had our baby boy who is now four. I am a homeschooling mom and our 3 girls are very active in figure skating. And my oldest is now landing her double jumps in figure skating!!! Yeah finally. My 8 year is extremely competitive and wants to out do her oldest sister in skating. Our 7 year old is very determined as well. However our 4 year old is just all boy. He loves cars, dinosaurs and especially teasing his sisters! I am sure he will want to play baseball, soccer or hockey. On top of that I am on the board of our figure skating club in charge of running all club events.

So, Yes I would say we are a very active family.

Why am I a Stay at Home Mom?

Trust me I did not seekout to be a stay at home mom. In fact before we had our first child I was a workaholic I loved to work and interact with people. I worked thru out my pregency till they told me one day at the office to stay home till I had my baby! Just remember I was very pregant! Ready to pop at anytime! So, I must of made them all very nervous at the office especially since I was past my due date by three weeks!

Once our daughter was born I did the normal time to stay at home after you would have a child. Then we started looking for a good daycare that would work with our hours that we would feel comfortable with and could trust. So, I started back to working for just over three weeks and I thought things where going great and running smoothly.

Until that one evening we went to pick up our daughter from daycare. And discovered multiple deep scratches down her back. When saw that we where heart broken because we trusted someone with the most valuable and precious thing we have. When we confronted the daycare they had no valid excuse or reasons just o'well sorry. At that point we made the decision that it was not worth taking the risk of having strangers around our baby girl.

So, That was the last day I saw the inside of my office. And that is how my journey begins at becoming a stay at home mom.

What got me started with cooking?

Fresh homemade Zucchini Bread I have been cooking and preparing recipes since I could reach the kitchen countertop as a young girl. Cooking has always fasinated me plus I have been blessed with a Mom and Grandma that are excellent and creative home cooks. My family grew our own fresh foods and canned vegetables, made jellies, from summer till fall. In a addition to that we would make treat like cookies, fresh breads and rolls to the more complicated breads, desserts and wedding cakes.

Every week we would have a large family dinner with fresh hot homemade rolls, roast, lots of sides dishes and don't forget about desserts to. It was like having a holiday meal with your family every week!

So preparing for a large group, game night or big party became a natural thing for me since I grew up surrounded by food and making all sorts of recipes to fit the occasion.
