Fruitcake Cookies






What are Hermit Cookies?

They are a cake like cookie that is filled with raisen, walnuts or pecans, cherries, filled with spices and more.

Very similiar to fruitcake but in a form of a cookie.
This will be one of those treats that will be a must have during christmas or whenever you like.





Hermit Cookies

(also known as Fruitcake Cookie)

Ingredients:
1/2 pound butter
2 cups dark brown sugar
2 eggs(beaten)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup citron
1 cup candy cherries, chopped
1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
1 cup raisens
3 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F(200 degrees C)

Combine in a large bowl with mixer brown sugar, eggs, sour cream and butter.

Then mix in salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and flour in bowl till well combined then add all the rest of the ingredients.

On a greased baking sheet place tablespoon full of dough onto baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes

Makes: 6 dozen


Frosting For Hermits


Ingredients:
3 cups powder sugar
3 teaspoons butter,soften
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions Mix until well blended and smooth. Then spread onto slightly warm cookies.
