Swedish Meatballs Recipe
Delicous swedish meatballs this is one of my favorites my mom use to make for me. Easy recipe makes great leftovers. Serve over pasta or rice.
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/2 cup dry oatmeal
1 large egg lightly beaten
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 black pepper
GRAVY: 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup or Golden Mushroom Soup
FOR MEATBALLS: PREHEAT frying pan to medium high with 2 tablespoons of oil. MIX all meatball ingredients lightly but thoroughly in medium bowl. Shape into 2-inch balls. Place in frying pan and cook till no long pink in middle. Drain
Keep meatballs warm. FOR GRAVY: Add soup follow soup label instructions Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in meatballs into mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens slightly. Add meatballs to sauce; stir. Serve over noodles or rice.
